Subtopic- evolving fashion and why?
Just a moment ago I thought of Diane Keaton in Baby Boom. Do you remember her tailored suits in that movie?
I review fashion blogs daily and the outfits I am seeing are one piece dresses that have mostly loud prints, brightly colored tights and some sort of platform shoe.
Is J.C. [Keaton in Baby Boom] wearing this to the office too? In my search for what’s really being worn by professional women these days– I Googled “what I wore to work today” and found mostly bloggers with the outfits I describe.
Honestly, if I were still going to my corporate gig daily– I would not be a blogger and certainly not a fashion blogger– so that may explain why I am seeing what I now see.
So in my quest to see what female lawyers, mba business types with corporate gigs and other professionals are wearing– I thought I would view street cams in DC. Not a lot going on in DC’s streets today– and even if it were happening- the cameras do no zoom that much.
Then I found the EarthCam Times Square Cam and said great… it even zooms.
Posts like this tend to piss off the younger crowd I am sure– but what I am really searching for is the reason for the evolving fashion I am seeing.
As I have said before– I got some of my best ideas from television. That is no longer the case. I wanted to ask if jewish stylist were no longer being hired as stylist– or if we simply no longer like professional wear?
I noticed sometime back we were having an ugly period– based on television.. but when I flipped past some of the spanish speaking television shows– I was jealous. Not all the time- but more often than some of the styles I have seen by english speaking news media shows, and some of the shows I watch regularly..
I used to go to an office daily. That said– I tended to dress more like a stylish lawyer rather than a nerdy techie type. Honestly.. my rockwell position had a lot of business factored in whereas my Boeing/Pentagon gig did not. That said– Tysons Corner and the Pentagon [Boeing work locations] never made me feel out of place.
So that’s why I was looking for Keaton. she would not blog– what is she wearing today?
And if you don’t like the subject of this post– you can always check out the neat cameras on EarthCam.
Scenes from “Web of Lies” lifetime movie– [not the corporate world I knew]:
Film budget= Candian dollars $500,000. The story was not believable to me when I saw this scene so I turned away.
What happened to stylists?
