cramps my day… but worth it.
My Macbook is going to be out of commission today for about 5 hours while I let it remain dormant after allowing the battery to discharge completely. I will then recharge the battery completely. I would not need to do this if I had a spare battery.
I did this often when I first got the Macbook– and believe that is what has added to the longevity of the battery. In the last year- I do not think I have done it more than every six months– and today is the day.
That said– I do not often use the Macbook without the power cord so that is another reason– the battery has lasted so long. The batteries are about $65-$90 and simply not a justified cost for me right now.
However, without my Macbook for 5 hours… plus the recharge time? Its hard… especially since I do not like logging into my online accounts with anything but the Macbook. That’s why I stopped doing this procedure so often. But I love the fact– I can still get between 3-5 hours [used to be 3-7 hours] with a fully charged battery if I need to.
And since getting my Netbook earlier this year- at least I am still mobile while this process is in progress… I am on the battery powered Macbook now. Have a little over 2 hours before it dies….
