The other problem– I tend to self list. It used to be that my own links were high enough to help each page. Q’s Wire [this blog] lists the links for the news service. Why do I promote this service so heavily? Not only is it a useful service for the latest news, but it also allows me to showcase my software tools.
I wanted something that would show users real time use of tools I can develop and a news service seemed like the perfect solution.
The site is very useful. I am angry about the downgrade? No, just wondering if those that have seen the site are aware of how much time I have put into it. Software developers tend to evolve tools they develop. An example, Microsoft has evolved its Windows application.
My widgets and tools [in use on WiredPages] and the Blogger Calendar are not evolved. I build the basic tool and do not add more bells and whistles unless requested by a client. Why? My situation is complicated and has do to do with security, those that think they should run my business and “fix” my code, and unauthorized use. My code is not broken. It is the way I want it.
That said, I do evolve WiredPages. I am always looking for ways to make it more useful. I built an ApartmentFinder applet [the affiliate partner cancelled our partnership] and want to use a new real estate finder on the Real Estate page, however this puts money in someone else’s pocket. I do not owe free services, even if I can show off my software tools.
Take a look around the news service [WiredPages]. I object to the PR0 ranking for this long established site. I want a judge to say– duly noted…. [A Few Good Men].
