Quick Maps Quirk
When I developed the Google Maps Interface I tested to insure that only authorized sites could access. This access check was working fine when I originally installed the tool. Last night I found the servlet was allowing access to all sites. I do not like odd issues like this with my programs. I have used this type of implementation in the past to prevent unauthorized use of my tools so this functionality has been tried and tested.
My implementation of the Google Maps interface requires a developer key. You can get a developer key for a similar tool from Google.
If I had wanted to provide free access of this tool to any web page I would have implemented that functionality. Do not change how my programs work.
Also let me remind– if you attempt to use the resource in an authorized manner the tool will disable for your IP. I will be more than happy to provide you with a similar interface using your access key. Cost about $4.95 [for your customized tool] plus $1.00 per month hosting if you do not have server side Java support.
I am not trying to be a meanie. I work for a living. I have to pay for hosting and access just like everyone else. Maybe there is a rumor going around that I am independently wealthy. They are too busy waiting for me to slander the world to make me wealthy. [I wonder if there is a time limit?] I am a software consultant. I am not really cheap nor am I slave labor. DO NOT CHANGE MY PROGRAMS.
