Tuesday, November 22, 2011 :: Q...
Just found and corrected another bug with the new version of the World Weather Interface. Inverted high and low temps on the extended forecasts.. should have checked that sooner– but its corrected now.
Yes, it was a carry over mistake. The old way [november 2010 rewrite to add the extended 5 day forecast data] using the Weather Channel API provided the data in reverse order and I tried to use a lot of the same code for the front end applet– though I did rewrite quite a bit.. and totally rewrote the back end – servlet.
The new data source only offers the current and next day extended forecasts– so that was the other difference.
That said, this is not the crap that I refer to when discussing the new interface… someone is swapping out my code. this should cease at once. Do not change my sites or code.. someone wanted to show me my mistake? have you ever heard of a bug database? Most people submit bug reports.. they do not get on their high horse and change someone else’s work. Changing a programer’s work without their knowledge is really an illogical mistake. if you do not get this — then learn this first before you start your own software consultancy. I will not be hiring you.
I had to rewrite the new interface quickly.. I did not lose the feed until November 5th or so– and then I wrote to the Weather Channel and waited another week or two.. without getting a direct response.. The only reason I rewrote the interface [when I did] was the profile page for the xml feed changed indicating it was no longer available. I started the rewrite the same day.. that was just over a week ago.. I am happy with my new interface..
I cannot see problems if you keep changing it.. I am not asking you to stop.. I am telling you to stop.. get the f of my sites.. not kidding. this does not help.. and you have no authorization to change interfaces and programs I install on my sites..
You are really important and think you can.. FBI– you owe really important jail.. I said stay off my sites.. I am not kidding.
Other news: Earlier made holiday short bread cookies.
I iced most of the 66 small tea cookies with a pink almond glaze.
Programmers are always debugging.. this was a major rewrite.. I make mistakes.. that said– go write yours– without using the code you stole from me in the first place and learn to stay in your own business. my business is not your business.
